The Open Shelf
A LITTLE ABOUT THE OPEN SHELF
The Open Shelf was created with a simple idea: teachers deserve resources that are useful, beautiful, and designed to give them something incredibly valuable back—time.
Because the more time teachers can save on the things that don't need to take so long, the more time they have for the things that matter most.
As a teacher, I know how much time goes into finding, creating, adapting, and organizing materials for students.
Sometimes the resource you need exists, but it isn't quite right. Sometimes you need something that doesn't exist at all. And sometimes you simply want a resource that feels a little more special than a worksheet pulled together at the last minute.
The Open Shelf grew out of that experience. I believe the best classroom tools don't just support students—they support teachers, too. My goal is to create resources that take something off a teacher's plate, save valuable time, and make the day-to-day work of teaching just a little easier. Because every minute a teacher saves searching for, creating, or adapting a resource is another minute they can spend doing what matters most: teaching, connecting with students, and making a difference in their classroom.
The Open Shelf is growing into a collection of creative tools and resources designed with real classrooms in mind.
Easy-to-use tools that help teachers create customized learning materials without starting from scratch.
Thoughtfully designed materials that are practical, engaging, and ready to bring into the classroom.
Resources made with the reality of teaching in mind: simple to use, easy to customize, and pleasant to look at.
Teaching is already a full-time job—and then some. There are lessons to plan, students to support, families to communicate with, paperwork to finish, and approximately a million little things that somehow need to get done.
The Open Shelf is designed to take one more thing off your plate.
My goal is to create tools that are easy to use, thoughtfully designed, and genuinely time-saving. Whether a resource saves five minutes or an hour, those minutes belong back with you—not spent searching for the right worksheet, formatting a resource, or starting something from scratch.
Beautiful doesn't have to mean complicated, and useful doesn't have to mean time-consuming.
“Less time creating resources. More time doing what matters.”
I hope you find something here that makes teaching just a little easier—and maybe a little more fun, too.
